Bits

It seems to me there might be a better way to manipulate values to get 1, -1, or 0 etc. for use in cheap birth tie removal et al.

I'm thinking perhaps some sort of bit mask to XOR against the value... I'd really have to crack open my old textbooks in bit manipulation.

let's see, I seem to remember this:

let A,B be numbers

A & A = A (ie: and) A ^ A = 0 (ie: XOR) --Nums

wiki refresh

Num's ... something is screwed up with the cache/refresh here ...

Eyes

I believe there is a table in the appendix of PY's tutorial that explains what the angles are for the different eyes.

I never really mess with them myself, it just gets too complicated. I prefer the simple turning gene Ymir uses:

i think the above is for some kind of tie feeding.

i don't find the appendix(s) in his tutorial here. search for eye here gets me nothing ... search for eye at the forum gets me nothing. i think Endy is out to sea or i could ask him. guess i could find a bot with a single eye ... and alter it to the other eyes ... and then try to look at them in the sim.

I can't believe they did that to your user page. Nuts. You'd think they'd try and stay low or something.

Made a Spam Watch page, talking about their different techniques we've seen so far. Hopefully it'll help a bit.

Ought to take a look at the code for some of the stuff they'll link to. Uses J-script to auto redirect users who have any concerns about their privacy. Even the code to do that is basically encoded, further hiding the spammer. Nasty peices of work. --Endy^chat 23:57, 19 Apr 2006 (MST)
