This is a simple list of major features that are "wished for". They don't always need to be practical, or even doable. They won't all necessarily get implemented. They're just wishes.
TODO integrate things listed | here.
Networking
- Program automatically (with user prompt) patches itself as new versions become available, or at least notifies user when new versions become available.
- Users can browse for bots in a beastiary right from the program, and download them with the program, and have the program figure out where to store them.
Bot archetypes
Design ideas to strive for.
- A volvox like multibot that forms a stable circle using wedge-shaped bots.
- An ant bot
- that can use pheremone trails to navigate and communicate.
- that can dig into shapes to create nests.
- A squid multibot that can move using only jet propulsion (ie: the "frog-leg kick" used in the breaststroke.)
- A fish multibot that can move using an undulating wave.
- A towering plant structure that uses roots to anchor itself and collect something (probably waste, maybe other substances). The multibot moves this substance up through long chains of bots to the top "leaves" that use it for photosynthesis, sending nrg back down the chain.
